...I have "I Want Your Sex" stuck in my head, which is the tune I typed that title to, so yeah ^^; Kaido Kio is my default user-picture, so blame that.
ANYWAY! Happy first day of spring :D (for those in the Northern Hemisphere, 'in any case' ^^;)! Since it seems like you wonderful lot want a contest (according to the poll at http://sheikxlink_fc.livejournal.com/2012/03/11 ), then there shall be a contest~ So that means we need to work things out for it.
So there shall be a 2012 Minuet of Spring contest. Physical and non-physical prises/prizes seem to be tied, so how does a choice like last time sound?
vatelle has offered their services (and so do I), but would anyone else like to volunteer anything? Art, writing, unlimited rice pudding, et cetera, et cetera? If you would like to, just leave a comment in this post saying what :) I personally will be offering art, writing, a Shink button like last time, and/or a 2 months paid subscription for LiveJournal. Sadly doujinshi for this are too rare & expensive to offer :(
Next I would like to know if the 2009 format** was alright? 600 words or 600x600 pixels were the maximum limits. The point of that was to have a bunch of short/small entries that wouldn't be daunting, and kinda fit in with it being for spring. Would you like a different set-up? Should tge limits be higher, or lower? Should there be an added theme? Last time an entry had to be based on a song, was that alright? Here is the opportunity to let me/everyone know!!!
I would like to get everything organised within the next 2 weeks so that it could be opened around April 4TH (04-04), and run until May 5TH (05-05) if there are no objections. So please spread the word around!

Date: 2012-03-25 08:47 am (UTC)Plus, we really need to start building up a Zelda fandom presence on DW XD
Anyway! I would like to participate :)

Date: 2012-03-25 02:52 pm (UTC)I also really, really don't like some of LiveJournal's practices, and I hate the new comment pages. But DreamWidth's import system isn't ideal as of now. Instead of updating already imported entries/comments, it more overwrites wgat is there. So if someone commented on a old post imported over to here and since that would be best to be reflected over there, then updating would overwrite any new comments on the older posts there, and perhaps even any new entries.
And also I most often am posting from mobile devices. So I, myself, could only comment or make posts on the rare times I access a computer-computer :( So DreamWidth's lack of current mobile options is also sadly a factor.
There is an option for plus users to disable custom comment pages for communities. But I don't know if that would work for you, or with here. I have the horrible default pages still on, just because in the past so many large pictures have been posted, and it usually breaks most layouts. But lj-cuts should be for posting such things behind, so crap comment pages for now -_-;
I am really, really, really sorry. I truly am.

And participation is excellent!

Date: 2012-03-26 02:25 am (UTC)And that's the problem, I HAVE to use custom comment pages, because I literally can't use the default! (Seriously. The drop-down menu for icons won't load, and, worse, the Post Comment button doesn't respond!) The ONLY way for me to comment on anything here is to use style=mine.
If I participate in this, would I be able to post it to my fandom journal on DW, then post here, link to it, and turn off comments on this post? I'm trying to phase out actually using LJ, since it's unnecessarily complicated now. They didn't think about the fact that their shiny new system didn't work with every browser...
